Windsor C-1 Wins Title in FundingFactory’s Recycling Rumble

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Windsor C-1 School District has triumphed over Southwest Elementary in Dexter, MO for the winning title in FundingFactory’s Recycling Rumble contest by collecting 600 recyclables. Out-recycling the competition has earned a 25% bonus on the value of the items they collected during the contest.

Windsor C-1 went head-to-head against Southwest Elementary from Dexter, MO to collect and ship the most inkjet and toner cartridges, cell phones, and small electronics from March 13-May 31, 2012, with support from parents, community members, and local businesses. FundingFactory matched the schools according to their comparable recycling rate.

Since 2000 Windsor has raised $16,288.13 in cash and rewards by recycling empty laser and inkjet cartridges, used cell phones, iPods, MP3 players, GPS devices, and digital cameras with FundingFactory. Windsor’s total recycled weight is 25,022 pounds.

“Everyone wins when we come together to protect our environment,” said Sean Michaels, co-president of FundingFactory. “Our schools, churches, and charities gain resources, and landfills are spared ever-increasing e-waste. Even those who didn’t come out on top in their Rumbles are winners today.”
