Dear parents/guardians of I.C. students,
I hope everyone is enjoying their unexpected 5-day weekend and is staying warm today. A belated Happy New Year to everyone as well as we are now a couple weeks into our second semester.
Important upcoming dates are included later in this email, but I wanted to draw your attention to 2 dates in particular because the board approved a change to the district calendar for later this semester. March 23, which was originally a day off for students, is now a full school day, and April 3, which was originally a school day, is now a day off for students. We will send reminders again later this semester, but I wanted to make sure everyone had time to start adjusting their schedules if necessary.
On another note, it has come to my attention that our after-school activity traffic on Wednesday, 1/11, at 4:30 PM, was particularly heavy and blocked Windsor Harbor Rd. We had a lot going on with activities in the building that day, and we will be adjusting the schedules of at least a couple of those activities to try to keep that from happening in the future. My apologies if you were stuck in that traffic on Wednesday.
Last week, removal of our front playground began in preparation for construction of our new classrooms as part of the Proposition Windsor improvements. Eventually construction on our campus will lead to some temporary changes to our procedures. We appreciate your patience and understanding during construction.
Here is the promised list of important upcoming dates:
2/14: Winter Valentine’s Parties 9:45 AM – 10:45 AM
2/15: Progress Reports Go Home
2/16: NO SCHOOL (Staff Development Meetings)
2/19: NO SCHOOL (President’s Day)
3/8: Alumni Association Discount Card Fundraiser Kick-off
3/9: Early Dismissal Day
3/16: Report Cards Go Home
3/23: MAP Awards Assembly (Details Forthcoming)
3/26-4/3: SPRING BREAK-NO SCHOOL
Thank you so much for supporting your students’ learning and your support of public education. If you have any questions, please call our office at 464-4451 or contact me directly at 464-4407 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
