Welcome to 7th Grade Remedial Reading and/or ELA Class!
My name is Dana Mora and I am excited to have your child in my class during the 2015/16 school year! I was raised on a farm in Southeast Missouri and enjoy country music, scary movies and reading nonfiction. In 1989 I earned my B.S. degree in Secondary Education with a major in English from Southeast Missouri State University. I taught writing courses at Southeast while I worked on my masters degree in literature. In 1990 I was hired as a middle school teacher and eventually earned my masters degree in Secondary Administration from UM-St. Louis in 1998. I spent three years visiting districts throughout Missouri and presenting at conferences to help teachers and principals make the transition from traditional junior high schools to more student-centered middle schools. This experience was invaluable as I watched so many junior high schools that had been run as mini-high schools evolve into middle schools that put students’ needs as top priority. I began teaching at Windsor Middle School in 2002 and earned my specialist degree in Mental Health Practices from UM- Columbia in 2011.
I truly enjoy teaching middle school students and I am looking forward to a productive and fun school year. Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions about your child or class.
