It’s All About Me!!
Hello! My name is Sherri Mae Thornberry. I grew up in a very small town in Haskell, Arkansas (now you know where the accent comes from). The population was less than 700 people. I attended Harmony Grove Elementary and then graduated from Harmony Grove High School – all on one small campus, and no, not just one building. I lived in Haskell for 17 years, until I left for college. I attended the University of Arkansas and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary and Early Childhood Education with a minor in Middle School Social Studies.
After graduating, I began my teaching career in an early childhood program for three years in Fayetteville, AR. In 1999, I moved to Little Rock, AR and taught half of a school year in a kindergarten transition classroom.
In January 2000, I moved to Missouri and began working as a teacher assistant in an early childhood special education program for the Hazelwood School District. In August 2000, I was hired with the Crystal City School District, in which I taught kindergarten for 2 years. While teaching, I earned my Masters of Science Degree in Education from Missouri Baptist University.
In August 2002, I then joined the Windsor C-1 School District teaching 2nd grade. In 2004, I made a very important decision to move back into a kindergarten classroom. I am currently teaching kindergarten, which I truly enjoy and look forward to many more great and exciting years as the “Farm Friends”.
In my free time, I love spending time with my daughter, Addison (Doodle). I also enjoy doing Crossfit, watching my kid play sports, shopping, traveling, reading, and snow boarding.
